About The Department
2025 is an exciting year for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Staff Wellbeing (EDIW) at SOAS, and a great time to become the fourth member of our friendly and supportive team. We are about to submit two significant applications for equality charter marks (Athena Swan and the Race Equality Charter), as well as developing the next SOAS EDIW strategy, which will launch in September 2025.

About The Role
This Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead post is responsible for coordinating, co-designing, and implementing EDI projects and initiatives across the institution. You will have specific responsibility for working with the Race Equality Charter (REC) oversight group to oversee the REC action plan, supporting work on equality impact assessments, as well as other areas of EDI more broadly.
Working with the Head of EDIW, and the wider team, there will be space for the post holder to be creative and contribute to the development of the new EDIW strategy, and new EDI initiatives. The EDIW team is committed to further embedding EDIW into departments and central services teams, and increasing staff and student engagement and momentum with EDIW.
