SLC now has an exciting opportunity for an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Advisor to join our Strategy, Policy, and EDI Team. This role is central to the delivery of SLC’s three-year EDI Strategy and will play a key part in creating a more diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation.
As someone passionate about making cultural change, the role holder will work collaboratively with the People Team, leadership team, directorates, and our colleague networks to identify opportunities for improvement and embed EDI initiatives across the business. They will lead on key activities to enable our colleagues to thrive and support SLC’s corporate ambition to be a great place to work.
The successful candidate will bring a proactive and collaborative approach, working to ensure that EDI is effectively integrated into all areas of the organisation. In doing so, they will contribute to creating an environment where everyone can succeed, enabling SLC to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
SLC offer a hybrid working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
What you bring:
- A working knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practice, legal requirements and emerging trends.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness with experience of engaging with diverse communities and/or individuals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive issues effectively, tactfully and with empathy.
- Ability to facilitate discussions and provide constructive feedback and coaching on sensitive issues
- Previous experience working in a diversity and inclusion, HR/People, or advisory role, with demonstrated expertise in promoting EDI initiatives within a large organisation.
