Sysco GB (whose UK operating companies include Brakes, Fresh Direct, KFF & Medina), are now recruiting for an Inclusion & Diversity Lead to join the HR Function on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting into the Sysco GB HR Director, you’ll take a lead on implementing our diversity and inclusion strategy across the organisation of 8000 colleagues. The role will be crucial in fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values and promotes diversity and drives equity across all levels. Implementing strategic imperatives around how we enhance our culture and focus on our day to day working environment.
You’ll work in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and oversee diversity and inclusion activities at all levels from the CEO through to colleague engagement. Responsible for formulating a multi-year strategy that means we are both an employer of choice and equipped to meet our business ambitions. A key role that will collaborate with leadership and colleague teams to ensure that Inclusion and Diversity principles are integrated into our business practices, policies, and employee engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Design and execute a comprehensive I&D strategy aligned with Sysco GB's (and global) business goals and values.
- Leadership Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership to ensure I&D is prioritised in decision-making and company policies.
- Program Implementation: Oversee the development and implementation of I&D programs, working in conjunction with Comms & Engagement, Learning & Development Employee Relations to deliver and support initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and fostering an inclusive environment.
- Data Analysis: Analyse workforce data and I&D metrics to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and report findings to stakeholders for action planning.
- Employee Engagement: Understand be involvement with established and establishing Colleague Resource Groups (CRGs), working closely with Comms to promote opportunities for employee involvement and greater access for front line colleagues, in I&D initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Build partnerships with external organisations and community groups to enhance our I&D efforts and represent Sysco GB in industry initiatives.
- HR partnerships: Work with Comms & Engagement, Learning & Development Employee Relations to weave I&D into HR priorities that span across leadership development programmes, employee education and current environmental challenges on I&D topics and cultivate an understanding of policy governance & compliance, unconscious bias and systemic inequities.
- Advocacy: Serve as a champion for I&D initiatives, advocating for policies and practices that promote equity across the company.
- Partnership: Partner closely with business resource forums and listen to their suggestions on how to make our culture more inclusive.
- Knowledge: Key subject matter expert in I&D issues, supporting the company internally and representing it externally as a thought leader.
About You:
You’ll have proven experience in a I&D leadership role, in a large blue-collar organisation. A strong understanding of I&D best practices, trends, and legal requirements are essential. We’re looking for someone who has previously implemented strategy and execution of programmes in a complex organisation with many internal stakeholder groups. Outstanding interpersonal skills are required with the ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues and external partners at all levels of the organisation. You’ll have an analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making to get it right first time and have a true passion and understanding for DE&I to successfully lead and embed the strategy.
