JOB TITLE: Legal Assistant / Project Administrator

HOURS: Full-time, 9:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch. A flexible approach to working hours is a must, overtime may be required at busy times.
We currently operate a hybrid working policy with at least 3 days office working per week. Our hybrid working policy is discretionary and may be subject to change.

ABOUT THE TEAM
Sheridans Interactive & Creative media team is celebrated for its full-service offering to interactive entertainment and games clients, who include game developers, publishers, esports platforms, distributors, commercial production agencies, VR and AR companies and more.
The work of the team is divided into 4 pillars: Advertising, Games, Fashion and Production.
The team is well known for its expertise within the advertising, digital and interactive media industries and includes a number of recognised industry experts. The team continues to advise from start-up video and technology development companies to multinational developers and agencies on some of the most cutting-edge legal issues.
The team currently comprises of 5 partners, 9 associates, 1 trainee solicitor, 1 paralegal and supported by 5 personal assistants.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant or Project Administrator to join our well-regarded Interactive & Creative Media team at Sheridans. The successful individual will be technically astute and have gained an interest and experience within this area of law through their studies, or another applicable entry level role and work experience for example.
An aptitude to develop strong technical expertise and support the team is a pre-requisite for the role, however, a key component to success in this role in an enthusiastic outlook and interest in engaging with the team’s clients and sectors and ultimately providing first-rate support to a busy and dynamic team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the end-to-end creative tax relief process, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, whilst monitoring and maintaining strict deadlines to deliver an effective service
- Support fee earners in the proof-reading and drafting of commercial contract agreements. This includes conducting high-level assessments to identify potential risks and ensuring compliance with legal requirements
- Conduct document review tasks, including evaluating contracts, correspondence, and other relevant materials to determine their applicability and level of information provided in relation to creative tax relief enquiries
- Maintain a proactive and collaborative approach to assist on matters with various fee earners and departments across the firm
- Ensure the efficient filing and organisation of legal documents and correspondence related to client matters
- Provide administrative support in relation to fee arrangements, ensuring that all billing-related records are kept up to date
- At all times applying high attention to detail and sufficient review of all documentation prior to signing and implementing
