Job Summary
We are looking for an effervescent and forward-thinking Head of People & Culture to join our growing Group as its HR leader. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will join a growing and highly ambitious Group diversifying its portfolio of corporate services to SMEs, and will be responsible for diversity, equity and inclusion, employee well-being and engagement, psychometric and intelligence testing of current employees, and learning and development. You may also be required to carry out high-level HR tasks on occasion.
In this pivotal role, you will drive organisational culture, talent development, and employee engagement with the company’s values, whilst ensuring that the company remains compliant with applicable employment laws and potential B Corp Certification.
You will be personally committed to our ambitious mission, and will be able to articulate a compelling vision of where the company is going to all staff, both remote workers and on-site.
Job responsibilities
People
- Oversee the day to day HR function across the Group, including onboarding, training, employee well-being and engagement, in both a strategic and hands-on manner.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
- Advice on company HR policy in relation to absence management, capability, etc.
- Ensure statutory onboarding requirements are fulfilled – e.g. right to work checks carried out in line with current legislation, employment contracts signed prior to work starting, etc.
- Ensure all staff members have robust job descriptions.
- Ensure all well-being and Performance 1-2-1s are conducted in a timely, effective, and empathetic manner by relevant line managers.
- Oversee a people-centric HR operations and payroll process, ensuring it is efficient and focused on delivering exceptional employee experiences.
- Review, analyse and report HR metrics, with the aim of improving staff retention, absence rates and employee engagement.
- Maintaining accurate HR records in respect of the above.
- Liaise with and provide the Board of Directors with up-to-date knowledge of trends or legislation changes relating to all areas of HR, when applicable.
- Conduct disciplinaries and liaise with external advisors where applicable in relation to contentious or high-risk employment matters.
Culture
- Ensure that our Group is positively represented to all potential and current employees, in line with our values of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
- Ensure our employer branding explains our progressive ideology in a clear and impactful way.
- Ensure a compelling, world-class onboarding process is implemented for all joiners.
- Develop and deliver a highly effective training and development strategy which focuses on employee skills, knowledge, and personal and professional development.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert on B Corp, DEI and ESG, ensuring the Board are always taking these matters into consideration during decision making, as well as ensuring education is provided to employees on a continuous basis on these matters.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert relating to psychometric testing, intelligence testing and any other relevant objective tests of current and future employees, liaising with the Head of Talent where applicable.
- Provide expertise and guidance on key activities, such as company events, charity fundraising, employee value propositions, etc.
- Create and maintain compelling and relevant content on various culture matters on our Intranet.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law and application of this in practice – including statutory obligations (e.g. right to work checks), onboarding, absence and capability management and disciplinary procedures.
- Commercially focused and able to work in a fast-paced dynamic and multi-faceted organisation.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey, exchange and present information in a clear, concise and accurate manner
- High level of integrity with a commitment to a set of values and principles, and able to display a high level of personal accountability in your conduct and behaviour.
- High EQ
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong knowledge of and advocate of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Strong knowledge and advocate of ESG is desirable
- Experience of Sponsor Licence management is desirable
- Experience of working in a B Corp Certified company is desirable

Working hours: 37.5 hours, 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday

Salary: £85,000 to £90,000
