We are looking for an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager to join our team. The role can be full-time or part-time, this can be discussed at interview.
You'll be working from anywhere and by that we mean you can work from home, or at your nearest English Heritage office, in Swindon, Bristol, York or London. You can work with a combination of these and we'll be as flexible as possible to accommodate your needs outside of work.

As Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, you will be working with a number of stakeholders, project teams, and our EDI steering group, as well as working independently. This is an integral role in the successful delivery of the EDI strategy. Alongside the Head of OD & EDI, you will develop and maintain new EDI working groups/networks, strategic partnerships and relationships, influencing others where there may be divergent and conflicting views as well as involve effective negotiation at senior levels.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Communication: Share our EDI vision, strategy and plan across the whole organisation. Inspiring and involving people to be champions for it.
- Stakeholder management: You will engage with and influence our senior leaders to help them understand the part they play in the agenda.
- You will work with the Head of OD & EDI to shape how we engage with, involve and support our people to get on board and have a voice. Making use of local and national internal and external networks, engagement and communication tools.
To be considered as an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager you will need:
- Project/programme management: Experience of leading people-focused and EDI projects. Significant knowledge and understanding of project delivery practice and management
- Strategic management: Experience of advising on or setting strategic direction for EDI into business strategy for long-term sustainable change
- Leadership and Influence: Expertise in building, leading and developing successful teams, as well as being comfortable reporting to and upward coaching senior leaders to influence decision-making at that level
- Business benefits: Business case development experience and the ability to influence to bring about actionable results
- Learning and Development: Experience in designing and delivering impactful and engaging EDI training and tools to inspire and empower individuals to take action on EDI
