Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated Student Wellbeing Advisor, who will provide specialist advice, case coordination and comprehensive general, non-clinical advice and guidance to students as an integral part of Student Wellbeing Services (SWS) at
Bath Spa University London (BSUL) and where capacity allows to Bath-based students via virtual appointments. You will enhance the student experience by delivering high-quality, student-centred services addressing a range of wellbeing-related concerns.
About the Role
As our Student Wellbeing Advisor, you'll provide compassionate and practical support to students. This dynamic role involves delivering non-clinical advice and guidance on emotional distress, bullying, harassment, and substance use, utilising coaching and motivational interviewing techniques to empower students through self-help strategies and appropriate referrals to specialised support when needed.
You will also offer support in financial matters, including student loans, grants, budget management, and financial hardship and coordinating tailored support for priority student groups.
You'll conduct risk assessments, manage cases, and create Academic Access Plans to support student success. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you'll play a vital role in maintaining student safety, managing wellbeing strategies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services. Above all, you will be motivated to make a difference in students' lives.
About You
You will be a reliable, calm, resilient, and compassionate individual. You'll bring excellent IT and organisational skills, with experience of Office365 products, as well as an ability to use databases, case management, and other IT systems in support of tasks relating to primary purpose of role.
Experience in delivering welfare and wellbeing services, and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion is essential. With expertise in assessing risk, providing safeguarding advice, and supporting students in distress, you'll thrive in a busy, customer-focused environment. You will excel at collaborative working, managing priorities, and delivering exceptional support to students.
Additional Information
The post-holder will engage in relevant training and actively participate in expanding their knowledge of Student Experience within Bath Spa University.
Regular weekend working will be required as teaching sessions take place on Saturdays. Occasional evening working may also be required.

- Annual leave opportunities during term time, particularly in September and October, will be limited to ensure continuity of service provision. Leave allocation will be managed across the team to minimise impact on service delivery.
