The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing our global DEI strategy, with a primary focus on London. This position will also provide additional support to DEI efforts in the Paris offices. This position involves collaborating closely with DEI leadership in the U.S. to develop and implement strategic DEI initiatives, while also partnering with key London/Paris DEI stakeholders, along with the Professional Development and Business Development teams. The Manager will drive key projects, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and help shape the firm's non-US DEI agenda.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of DEI initiatives across London and Paris offices, in alignment with firm-wide DEI goals and in partnership with key stakeholders (DEI Committees, Task Forces, etc.)
- Develop and oversee programming for the Diverse Lawyer Network, Heritage Month celebrations, and other DEI events
- Partner with senior DEI leadership to identify and implement best practices, ensuring alignment with the firm’s overall business strategy
- Plan and arrange for DEI training sessions, workshops, and seminars tailored to lawyers, staff, and trainees
- Collaborate with the Professional Development team to integrate DEI principles into recruitment, associate development, and the trainee life cycle
- Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of diversity metrics, including headcount, recruitment statistics, and utilisation rates
- Manage responses to London/Paris client requests, RFPs, and industry surveys, in collaboration with the business development team
- Track and evaluate the impact of DEI initiatives in our European offices using data-driven insights to inform strategy adjustments
- Strengthen relationships with diverse law student organizations and external DEI-focused groups to enhance the firm’s presence in the London market
- Coordinate and manage sponsorships and partnerships with strategically aligned organizations.
- Represent Proskauer at industry events, DEI forums, and conferences
- Oversee the creation and updating of DEI marketing materials, including London content for the firm’s diversity web page
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, partners, and staff on DEI matters
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in professional services environment, with at least 3 years in a DEI role, preferably within a large law firm
- Demonstrated experience in project management, strategic planning, and execution of DEI programs
- Strong knowledge of the UK legal market; familiarity with the Paris legal market is a plus
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and drive change
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong ability to engage diverse audiences
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- A self-starter who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other Proskauer offices as required
- Availability to attend and support firm-hosted events, fostering relationships with lawyers and staff
