Role Description
The People Director will play a key role in shaping the future of our organisation, serving as a strategic leader within our senior team. You will oversee all aspects of People/Human Resources across our club, driving initiatives that position The Roof Gardens as an employer of choice. In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering a culture where our people feel empowered, engaged, and inspired to deliver exceptional service to our members. Leading a dedicated People team, you will develop and implement strategies focused on team member engagement, retention, and talent development, all while supporting the growth and evolution of our people practices in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be at the heart of the organisation, building meaningful connections across teams and ensuring that The Roof Gardens remains a great place to work for all.
The skills and experience which will help you succeed in this role
- Proven experience in a similar senior people role, ideally within the luxury or high-end service sector, with a demonstrated ability to drive strategic people initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, with in-depth knowledge of HR best practices, legal compliance, and organisational development.
- Strong track record of delivering exceptional service, with a genuine passion for championing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the team member experience.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous change.
- Excellent communicator and relationship-builder, with the interpersonal skills to engage with team members at all levels. You will have a growth mindset, always seeking ways to develop both yourself and those around you.
- Friendly, approachable, and people-focused, with a natural ability to build trust, support colleagues, and create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
- Well-connected within the hospitality industry, with a strong network to support recruitment efforts, identify top talent, and stay ahead of industry trends.
