The Department
The People Team play a key role in enabling the firm to attract, develop and retain great people, and giving them the tools and support needed to develop and fulfil their potential, and that of the firm. The team is welcoming, inclusive, driven by providing a 'high touch' level of service, and collaborative in terms of how we work. The team consists of c.40 people in both business-facing, generalist roles (Advisory) alongside specialist teams (Reward; Engagement EDI & Wellbeing; Talent Acquisition, as well as our Academy, which consists of Academy Learning and Early Careers).
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced EDI professional looking to focus on Diversity and Wellbeing, on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will report to the Employment Policy and Engagement Director and will work as part of a supportive team committed to delivering excellence and to collaborating across the business to create a diverse, inclusive, healthy and sustainable workplace.
Duties And Responsibilities
The role will include, but is not limited to, the following day-to-day responsibilities:
Diversity & Inclusion
- Drive the firm's EDI strategy, EDI Committee and their agenda and organise monthly meetings, ensuring continued progress and that key objectives are being met.
- Actively coordinate the various strand subcommittees.
- Play an integral role in coordinating updates and keeping various stakeholders informed on all relevant processes, ensuring there is a joined-up approach across the EDI strands, People team and firm.
- Manage our internal EDI reports, diversity surveys and submissions, client requests/Memberships such as the SRA diversity questionnaire and Working Families benchmark.
- Work closely with the People Systems & Data team to collate and report on internal and external EDI related data and metrics, ensuring continued improvement.
Wellbeing
- Lead the Wellbeing Ambassadors to drive the wellbeing agenda for the firm.
- Pro-actively identify opportunities to support the firm in the current wellbeing climate by developing and delivering training, campaigns and events which link into national awareness days and wider social and business themes.
- Collaborate with the Reward team to implement and communicate our wellbeing benefits to the wider business.
- Develop and deliver regular wellbeing sessions to new joiners and existing colleagues and wellbeing training for the transition programmes, Trainee and Apprentice inductions and where additional ad hoc training is required
- Attend departmental/team meetings to discuss wellbeing and the support available.
General
- Effectively support the Employment Policy and Engagement Director in devising and implementing People policies and initiatives, to support our wider strategy.
- Work closely with the Communications team to develop wellbeing and EDI communications.
- Work closely with the wider business, alongside the People Advisory team, to understand their challenges and identify relevant support and/or training.
- Collaborate with the wider People team to ensure wellbeing and EDI are embedded across the employee lifecycle and identify opportunities to further enhance the Mishcon experience.
- Lead on the wellbeing/EDI Academy offering each term.
- Continuously look for opportunities to promote the Wellbeing/EDI agenda and the support that is available throughout Mishcon, amplifying what we do already but also ensuring there is enthusiasm and engagement for our new initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide high quality advice, guidance and support on wellbeing/EDI issues.
- Maintain a good understanding of the external market and best practice, so to ensure we are delivering a high-quality service amongst our competitors.
- Responsible for setting and managing the EDI/Wellbeing budget.
- Be the main point of contact with providers including Telus Health, MYNDUP, Working Families and Careers After Babies.
- Act as a subject matter experience and a point of contact to the business on the firms wellbeing benefits and support available.
- Maintain the wellbeing and diversity content on the firm's intranet pages and in weekly Academy emails, firmwide communications linking to national awareness days and other ad hoc communications.
