The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of People, UK to lead our HR day-to-day function in the UK. This role will have a strong emphasis on Employee Relations (ER) and will grow to take on full responsibility for all aspects of UK HR. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of driving HR initiatives that support our business objectives and foster a positive work environment. Additionally, this role will support the EMEA People Director in developing and executing the overall HR strategy for the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations (ER)
- Lead and manage all aspects of employee relations, including handling grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
- Develop and implement ER strategies and policies that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on ER issues, ensuring compliance with UK employment laws and regulations
- Remain current and proactive, ahead of the curve
HR Strategy and Leadership
- Support the EMEA People Director in developing and executing the UK HR strategy in alignment with business objectives and the EMEA People Vision
- Lead and mentor the UK HR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and address HR needs and challenges
Talent Management
- Oversee talent acquisition, ensuring the recruitment of high-performing and diverse talent
- Working with senior leaders manage the talent and performance review process, identifying high-potential employees and supporting succession planning
Performance Management
- Execute performance management frameworks that drive employee engagement and productivity
- Provide training and support to managers on performance management best practices
Compensation And Benefits & Process
- Oversee the design and implementation of competitive compensation and benefits programmes
- Ensure that compensation practices are fair, equitable, and aligned with market trends
- Manage payroll and benefits in compliance with UK employment laws
Employee Engagement
- Develop and implement employee engagement strategies to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Conduct employee surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
- Provide support and resources to managers to help them engage and motivate their teams effective
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I):
- Champion DE&I initiatives, promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Working with the DEI specialist implement DE&I strategies and programs that align with the company's values and goals
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar senior HR role, with a strong focus on Employee Relations
- In-depth knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations
- Proven experience in compensation and benefits, talent development, performance management and supporting senior leadership in HR strategy
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred
- Proven experience in compensation and benefits, talent development, and supporting senior leadership in HR strategy
