Are you a recent University of Salford graduate with a passion to contribute towards a more sustainable future?
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Graduate Sustainability Communications and Engagement Officer within the University’s Central Sustainability Office working in partnership with Salford Students’ Union (Salford SU). The position is an opportunity to gain experience of working within a dynamic and impactful sustainability team delivering real change through the University Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero Carbon commitment.
To succeed in this role, you will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic person with a firm commitment to sustainability. Your knowledge of sustainability issues and your communication, networking and relationship skills will enable you to work collaboratively and motivate others to engage with our sustainability programmes.
We particularly welcome applications from minoritised ethnic groups as they are under- represented within the Sustainability Department at this level.
We are also open to applications from those with non-traditional career paths, including those with family, caring or health-related career breaks, or those who have moved to sustainability from a career in another sector
Please note that this opportunity is only available to those who have graduated from the University of Salford within the past three years.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Sustainability Engagement Officer and wider Sustainability Office to support the delivery of events and initiatives throughout the year to engage staff and students on environmental issues.
- Assist with communication to help raise awareness, educate and influence staff and students to make more sustainable choices.
- Support colleagues in the Sustainability Office and Salford SU to identify and build links with student groups and student volunteers.
- Work alongside student volunteers to deliver successful events and activities.
